	Thank you for your letter of July 4.  I m very glad that you 
have been able to interest some people in my music printing programs.
I would welcome any effort that IRCAM might put forth for the commercialization
of my programs.

	I have written to Pierre Boulez about the possibility of my 
coming back to IRCAM during the autumn of 1981.  Perhaps at that time a
series of demonstrations for French music publishers could be arranged.
By then my complete instruction manual will be finished.  Also work
toward implementing the programs on a much smaller system will be well
under way.

	Currently my programs are working very well.  I am in the middle
of an experimental project on the printing of a set of Italian Madrigals
wherein the original data is typed in Boston.  Then the material is sent
here over phone lines where I do the display editing, after which files
go back to Boston where they are printed on a Versatec.

	Here in Palo Alto, I have been using a TRS80 microcomputer to
do all of my data input.  I have this little computer at home and when
I have finished typing several pages of music I send them to the PDP10 where
they are printed.

	If any of the French music publishers would like to contact
me directly I would be glad to answer any questions they might have.

	I hope I will be seeing you next year.
